Summer Reader Book Tag

Summer. Probably my least favorite season. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer vacation but as I am a person that doesn’t stand hot weather, summer is not for me.

But there is one thing that I love about summer: even though it is so hot I can barely exist, I have plenty of time to read, my summer vacation started a month ago and I already read 7 books (now that I think about it is not that great but is better than before 😢).

Today, I’ll be doing another tag, called the Summer Reader Book Tag, this tag was created byΒ islandOFdri,Β you should check her video out, you can find her on youtube.

  • Lemonade: Pick a book that started off bitter but got better.

I’ve Got Your NumberΒ is a book that I took a long time to get into. When I finished The Sea Of Monsters, I could feel that I was falling deep into a big reading slump so I just decided to read a funny contemporary to kick it off.

For me, this book from Sophie Kinsella was slow in the beginning, that lead me to think that this was a shitty book but suddenly things started to happend and I was sucked into the story and overall it was just a super funny and cute contemporary.

  • Golden Sun: Pick a book that made you smile beyond compare.

A Court Of Mist and Fury was probably the awesomest book I read this year. It was a book that me smile beyond compare, i cried too, but I smiled so much whenever the Inner Circle was together, they are so funny, especially Cassian and Mor.

  • Tropical Flowers: Pick a book setΒ in a foreign country.

Name a book, I bet it is not set in Portugal, I have read few books that take place in my country, so I’m going to take this question to another level:

Tropical Flowers: Pick a book set in a foreign world.

A Court Of Thorns and Roses series, what else could I choose? Despite the war,Β Prythian is where I would like to exist, I would be the person that would belong to a court but live her life traveling from court to court to keep the peace between them, besides I would be able to connect with all of the High Lord’s Β (except Tamlin, I just want to punch Tamlin, right now).

I took a quiz and it seems that I belong to the Dawn Court, which one do you belong in? Leave a comment letting me know.

  • Tree Shade: Pick a book in which a mysterious or shady character was first introduced.

For this I’ll choose The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater. I’ve got to admit that I didn’t like this new mysterious character at first, but as I went more into the book, this character gained a place in my heart and his actions showed that he deserved it. Personally, I loved that the author didn’t focus only on the younger romances, she made this as realistic as it could be.

(If you haven’t read this series, what are you doing reading this? Get out of here, run to the nearest bookstore and buy The Raven Boys, you’ll not regret it.)Β πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

  • Beach Sand: Pick a book that was grainy, and the plot barely developed

I actually don’t remember reading this book that much, I remember what it was about and that I liked it but I think not many things happend in it, An Abundance Of Katherines it is probably my least favorite book written by John Green, I think it was funny though.

  • Green Grass: Pick character(s) that were full of life, making you smile.

There are so many characters that are awesome answers for this, but I am only going to choose two of them. The first one is Grover from the Percy Jackson series, Grover is just so adorable, he is caring, sensible, connected to the nature and just so happy, it makes me happy all of his jokes and his innocence. The second character is Blue Sargent (The Raven Cycle), the fact that she is different, all of her trees in her room, her home and her family, the way she dresses, the fact that she is full of power, she tranpires life and creativity.

  • Watermelon: Pick a book that had some juicy secrets.

I’ll Give You The Sun is a book involved in secrets, it tells the story of twins, Noah and Jude, each of them caries a secret that can save and destroy the other, they keep it for them and that destroys them and their relacionship. In this book we follow their story as they unravel all the secrets and find their way back to each other.

  • Sun Hat: pick a book that had a vast, big universe/setting.

I was going to answer Harry Potter and that is the obvious answer, but as it’s obvious my answer is a new obsession of mine: Six Of Crows. I love how this book is so complex with all the different places where all of the characters come from and all of the languages they speak, I believe this was the setting for the Grisha Trilogy too, but I don’t quite remember.

  • BBQ: pick a book in which a character was portrayed as a hunk.

I’ll tell you about a series that has a bunch of characters portrayed as a hunk and let me tell you that just like Blue, I sometimes feel like I am in love with all of them: THE RAVEN CYCLE.

I know I’ve already talked about them so much, but I can’t not to, I am in love with that series, I wanted to jump into the third book as soon as I finished The Dream Thieves.

In this series, you’re introduced to 5 main characters: Blue Sargent, Adam Parrish, Ronan Lynch, Richard Gansey III and Noah Czerny, the four guys are the ones that give name to the first book: The Raven Boys, as they the raven boys and since I started this series, I’ve seen all of the boys as hunks.

I found this opening credits for the series the other day and let me just tell you that if this is not the physical representation of The Raven Boys, i don’t know what is.

Just to clarify, I need to say that I have no ideia how to talk less in tags, I just ramble in every answer, sorry if this is too long.

Feel free to answer a question in the comments, I would very much like if you did.Β πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Love, Eliana.

Top 5 Thursday: Favorite Tv Shows

Besides reading, one of the things I like to do the most is watching tv shows, they are an obsession of mine and I watch tons of them at the same time, but this series is only for the top 5 so, as hard as it was to choose, here they are: My top 5 Tv Shows.

  • The 100: Β After nuclear war destroys Earth, humanity has been reduced to the 4,000 survivors inhabiting 12 international space stations. Generations later, in need of a new home, a doomed mission of 100 juvenile prisoners is vanquished to Earth to see if the planet can sustain life, but they quickly discover that they are not alone.

The 100 has 4 seasons already and I started watching it when the third one was starting, I’m going to be honest on this and tell you that I felt like giving up while watching season 2 but I’m so grateful that I decided that I should keep on with it.

When it started The 100 was based on a book series with the same name, but I feel that in this particular case the book is not as good as the adaptation, the characters were equaly awesome but when the directors decided to leave the books and do #whateverthehelltheywanted, it got so much better, the character development was amazing and the plot is always so original.

  • Teen Wolf:Β In Beacon Hills, social outcast Scott McCall is bitten by a werewolf resulting in his own werewolf transformation. As he attempts to keep his condition secret, those Scott cares about are placed in grave danger as he grapples to keep his true nature under control.

Teen Wolf started in 2010, its last season is airing in 3 days and since it started it has become a great obsession to teenagers from all over the world, including me.

This Tv show has funny characters, new content never seen in television before (even though it’s a remake) and it has one of the greatest casts ever.

I started watching this show almost 2 years ago with my sister and even though we watched the majority of it separated, since season 5b that we watch it on wednesday together.

  • How to get away with murder:Β Students of brilliant criminal defense attorney and professor Annalise Keating, find themselves embroiled in a twisted murder plot that promises to change the course of their careers and ultimately their lives.

(Yes, the guy who plays Wes was also Dean Thomas on the Harry Potter Movies.)

The most awesome thing about HTGAWM is the fact that it seems more realistic than every other tv show on air. In here, there are no good characters, every single one of them has commited some sort of crime.

I feel like in this tv show we get to see the reality of what happends in court, many times they have to lie and plot against the others because in a court room that is what really matters.

Me and my friend started watching this last winter on school, and we got addicted to it, we are now waiting for season 4 to start (29.09.2017). Also, be prepared to want to be a lawyer after you see the first episode.

  • The Flash: In crime-ridden Central City, nerdy forensic investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and quickly discovers that the bolt which almost ended his life, has given him super speed. As Barry learns to control his new powers, he aligns himself with a team of friends to become a superhero called “The Flash”. Based on the D.C. comic book.

The Flash was one of the first tv shows I saw and loved, I watched it every sunday with my mum when it was on portuguese television, after television stoped streaming it, I decided to watch it on my own.

This tv show is an amazing ball of nerdness, and for a big nerd like me it is paradise, it has: 1) superheroes, 2) physics, 3) multi universe, 4) Grant Gustin, what could we want more?

  • How I Met Your Mother: In the distant future, father and architect Ted Mosby relays to his children how he met their mother, while his friends Marshall, Lily, Barney, and Robin all play essential parts to the story.

You think HIMYM is like any other humourous Tv Show, then you are wrong, I’ve only a few things to say about this: How I Met Your Mother is old as hell, I was 5 years old when it started and even though the quality is not the best, I was carried from one episode to the other, to the other, I fell in love with the characters, I laughed with them, I cried with them, I sometimes wanted to kill them and in the end, I finished the last episode in tears, I was sobbing, I was a mess.

An accurate representation of me when I finished HIMYM.

Booktube-a-thon Day 3

I’ve also posted Booktube-a-thon Day 1 and Booktube-a-thon Day 2, you can check them out if you want.

Booktube-a-thon Day 2

Overall I read only a couple of pages, because I was busy with all of the paperwork needed for my college’ scholarship. Despite that, I had a couple of minutes to fo the instagram challenge, which didn’t turned out to be how I wanted but for my first bookstagram photo it’s okay.

I’ll post my updates for today, tomorrow, so stay tuned for that. I hope you’re all having a much sucessful booktube-a-thon. 😘😘

Booktube-A-Thon Day 1

Hello book lovers and happy Booktube-a-Thon!!!

As I said on my previous posts, I’ll be posting daily updates for booktube-a-thon here in the next morning, so here it is the updates for day 1. Sorry for publishing it so late today.

Six Of Crows Dream Cast

I’ve finished reading Six of Crows yesterday and the emotions are still fresh, so excuse any sentence where I freak out too much.

This book was awesome, I DO understand the hype surrounding it, the characters were very intense, there was not a single point of view that I disliked reading. Six Of Crows is definitely a book that takes a lot of creativity to write, when you think: “It is not possible that their current situation could get worser!” and then they get into more trouble and they use fantastic plans to get through it.

I will not talk about the ending part even thought I really want to do it, let’s just say it was AWESOME! I bet Crooked Kingdom is going to be an hell of a ride! 😍

When I was half way through the book (in the middle of the whole week I took to read it πŸ˜’), I found myself thinking: “What a great movie this would be!”, and yeah, what a great 24 hour long movie this would be (if they didn’t include even the tiniest detail, I would take a shot of jurda parem so I could kick their ass).

We all know that probably this is not the perfect cast for everyone but I do see them as the characters from the book.

Now a little announcement:Β as you may or may not know, I’ll be joining this year’s booktube-a-thon, but because I don’t own a youtube channel I’ll be posting video updates on my twitter. I’ll post every video update on here from day 1, in day 2′ morning and do that for the rest of the days.

I wish you all a very happy and sucessful booktube-a-thon. 😘
